James “Rip” Rainey

,James Rainey Jr, or “Rip” as he has been nicknamed his whole life, wears many hats. He is a real estate property manager and developer, as well as a professional consultant and business coach. He is also a public speaker and published author, a family man, and an active philanthropist. He is dedicated to his own personal growth and development, as well as to the growth and development of everyone around him. 

Since childhood, James “Rip” Rainey has been self-motivated and driven. He was always drawn to math and science, and in high school, he won first place in a regional science fair competition for a working proof of the theory of gravity and linear acceleration. He then went on to attend the University of South Carolina, where earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. In addition, James received his MBA, graduating Manga Cum Laude, from Morehead State University. Shortly after graduating, Rip started a position as a nuclear engineer at Vectra Technologies. 

In his role as a project engineer at Vectra Technologies, Rip was responsible for engineering calculations as well as technical review of calculations, procedures, and drawings. Although he left the company in 1999, many of his designs for the transportation of radioactive waste are still used today. 

After transitioning his career, James “Rip” Rainey returned to school and earned his MBA in 2001. Since 2005, Rip has been a partner for Titus Real Estate Services in Raleigh, NC. He has also worked as an independent consultant, helping individuals and businesses to maximize their impact and overcome any obstacles they might face. 

James “Rip” Rainey has attended many workshops and holds numerous certifications, but he believes the ones that have most impacted his life are “Effective Negotiating” and Valwood’s “Christian Leadership Coaching Certification.” He is frequently asked to speak on negotiating and leadership, as well as on maximizing life. He was recently nominated to the National Speakers Association for his wealth of experience and years of training. 

Rip is also a published author. His book, Truth and Money: Fresh Thinking on Money Management and Personal Finances, was published in 2005. The book provides readers with essential planning tips to help them reach retirement and estate planning goals. Rip has also been an instructor at the Wake Technical Community College’s Business and Industry College. 

In addition to his professional work, James “Rip” Rainey is a family man and an active member of his community. In 2020, he will celebrate his 25th anniversary with his wife and lifelong friend, Lisa. Recently, as their two teenage boys transitioned to tennis, Mr. Rainey has been a head coach at Wake Christian Academy for both basketball and tennis. As a tennis coach, both his sons were selected as “Player of the Year” in each year they have played! 

Mr. Rainey currently serves his community and church through various residential planning projects and as a volunteer audio technician. He also dedicates time in support of Rancho 3M. Rancho 3M is an orphanage and school for very high-risk children in the drug-torn area of Mexico. In his free time, Rip is a private pilot and an avid golfer.
